I like printing stuff. I am not designed to live in this so-called paperless society. I like books (tho i do love my Nook), I love printed out pictures, coloring sheets, blah blah blah.
And maps….what is it about them that is so addictive? My kids can, and regularly do, page through it for hours. I want to have walls of maps for them to look at, big maps! But, its kind of cost prohibitive.
Sooo…when i saw this tutorial on East Coast Creative on using architect prints to get a 3’x4′ print for just $5, I got a lot excited. The only catch is they print out on 20lb paper (copy paper thickness) and only in black and white. Not a big deal for me as I’ll be mounting my maps on museum board and covering with contact paper (so the kids can mark locations with dry erase markers).
I have about a million ideas for MASSIVE prints. Pinterest sure isn’t helping to narrow down that list, but at least this is one area I can indulge in for the cost of a venti latte at Starbucks.
